I freelanced effectively
full time for Sky Sports, Sky News, and Sky Sports News, between 1997 and 2002, and still go back occasionally to Sky Sports
News.
I worked behind the scenes on Soccer AM, Premiership
& La Liga football, cricket, rugby, fishing :-) , and many other shows.
Many highlights, including researching, developing and transmitting
packages on air on Sky News, plus doing the FA Cup draw in rehearsals before we went on air, and then standing in as a replacement
"footballer" after one of the footballers couldn't make it at the last minute. Great fun being a ringer amongst a group
of 15 real managers and players :-) .
It was also class to DJ a couple of club nights for
the BSkyB team. All roles in the media are highly sought after, but they are a great team to work for that I'd
recommend to anyone.
It would be brilliant to go back in the future as a
genuine sports expert pundit in the future, crossing over from my current role with many interviews in the media about gambling
in general.
